Welcome! let’s clear up a few things about hypnosis

If you’re curious about hypnosis, you’re not alone.

Over the years I’ve had thousands of people ask me what it is, how it works, and - quite fairly - whether it’s safe, real, and right for them.

So I put this page together to answer the most common questions I hear, as openly and honestly as I can. You’ll find everything from how the process actually works, to what to expect, and even what to do if you decide a program isn’t for you.

I’ve been a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist since 2007, and I’ve been helping people make positive changes through online hypnosis since 2014. I genuinely believe that when you understand what’s happening - and why - it becomes not just more effective, but a lot more enjoyable too.

So have a browse, take your time, and if you still have a question I haven’t covered, feel free to reach out. This is meant to help you feel completely comfortable and confident about your next step.

What exactly is hypnosis — and how does it work?

Hypnosis isn’t some mysterious, magical trance - it’s actually a natural state that you drift in and out of every day. Think of those moments when you’re so absorbed in a good book or a film that you barely notice the world around you. That’s a form of hypnosis - your conscious mind takes a little step back, allowing your imagination and emotions to come forward.

In a therapeutic setting, hypnosis simply makes use of that same state deliberately. By gently bypassing the critical, analytical part of your mind, it allows you to connect more deeply with your subconscious - the part of you where habits, feelings, and automatic behaviours live.

From there, I can guide you by suggestion to adjust patterns and responses that no longer serve you - and to choose to replace them with ones that better support the changes you want to make. You’re always aware, always in control, and the process feels calm, safe, and surprisingly familiar.

In short: hypnosis helps you use your own mind more effectively - not to lose control, but to take it back in a more relaxed and powerful way.

Will I still be in control — and is it completely safe?

Yes - absolutely, and always.

You’re fully in control throughout the entire experience. You can open your eyes, move, or stop listening at any time you wish. Hypnosis isn’t something that’s done to you - it’s something you do with me, as a cooperative process.

Think of it as a guided form of deep focus and relaxation. You choose to follow the words and suggestions because they feel right and helpful - not because you’ve somehow surrendered control. If something didn’t fit, your mind would simply ignore it.

As for safety: hypnosis is a completely natural and harmless state. It’s been used for well over a century in both therapy and medicine, and is now widely recognised as a legitimate and effective approach for personal change.

The worst that can happen? You might drift off to sleep for a while - and wake up feeling relaxed, refreshed, and wondering why you didn’t try it sooner.

Can anyone be hypnotised?

In my experience, yes - anyone can be hypnotised who genuinely wants to be.

It’s not about being “suggestible” or “weak-willed”; it’s about allowing yourself to relax and follow a guided process without fighting it. If you come to hypnosis with curiosity and a willingness to participate, it will work for you.

Over the years I’ve found that even the most sceptical clients can enter a pleasant, effective hypnotic state once they stop trying to make it happen and simply allow it to. You don’t need to “believe” in hypnosis for it to work - you just need to let go of resistance and give it a fair chance.

There are a few exceptions, of course. I don’t recommend these programs for children, for anyone under the influence of alcohol or narcotics, or for those currently managing a diagnosed mental illness unless advised by their healthcare professional.

For everyone else, hypnosis is a safe, natural way to focus your mind, change old patterns, and create positive results - if you’re willing to let it happen.

How are your hypnosis programs different?

I’ve spent more than a decade focused exclusively on one goal - making recorded hypnosis truly effective.

That might sound obvious, but most hypnosis audios you find online are just adapted from old-style clinical scripts - the kind written for a live therapist who can interact with a client during trance. My approach starts from the opposite direction. Every word, pause, and suggestion is designed specifically for a one-way environment, where it’s just you, your headphones, and your subconscious mind.

This means I use techniques that genuinely work without live interaction, and I leave out anything that relies on client/therapist feedback. The structure, tone, pacing, and language are all carefully chosen to help you experience deep, natural change - comfortably, safely, and at your own pace.

All my recordings are produced using a professional vocal studio setup for clarity, warmth, and immersion. And rather than a one-off “quick fix,” most of my programs are designed as multi-session journeys, guiding you step by step through the same kind of transformation you’d experience over several costly in-person visits - but in your own time, in your own space.

It’s hypnosis built for the way people actually live today - personal, powerful, and surprisingly practical.

How soon will I notice results?

That really depends on you - and that’s exactly how it should be.

Everyone’s mind works at its own pace. Some people notice subtle shifts right away - feeling calmer, lighter, or more focused after just one session. For others, change builds gradually over a few days or weeks as new thoughts and habits quietly take root beneath the surface.

The key is repetition and engagement. The more often you listen and allow the suggestions to settle in, the more your subconscious begins to reinforce those new pathways automatically. Think of it as learning a new skill - practice, consistency, and curiosity all help it become second nature.

So, rather than looking for a single “aha!” moment, simply enjoy the process. Each listen strengthens the change, and over time, you’ll look back and realise something has quietly transformed - you’re just being the new you, without trying.

How do I download and use the programs?

All of my hypnosis programs are supplied as MP3 audio files, which means they’ll play on almost any device - phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop.

Multi-session programs are delivered as a single .zip file, which simply bundles everything neatly together. Once downloaded, you just need to open (or “unzip”) the file, and the individual MP3 sessions will appear, ready to play in your preferred audio app.

It’s a simple process, and it works perfectly on both mobile devices and computers.

Below you’ll find a quick guide for each platform:

📱 How to open ZIP files on iPhone or iPad (iOS)
  1. After purchase, download your .zip file directly to your device.
  2. Locate it in your Files app (usually under Downloads).
  3. Tap the .zip file once — it will automatically unzip itself into a new folder.
  4. Open the folder to find your MP3 sessions.
  5. Tap any track to play it directly, or move it into your favourite music app or cloud storage for easy access.
🤖 How to open ZIP files on Android
  1. Download the .zip file to your device (usually found in My Files → Downloads).
  2. Tap the file once — most Android phones automatically extract it into a new folder.
  3. If prompted, choose “Extract” or “Unzip.”
  4. Inside the new folder, you’ll see all your MP3 sessions ready to play.
  5. You can move them to your music player or streaming folder for easy repeat listening.

What’s the best way to listen — and does it still work if I fall asleep?

You can listen to your hypnosis sessions wherever and whenever you can relax without distractions - but a comfortable chair is usually best.

Sit back, rest your arms loosely (a cushion on your lap helps), keep your feet flat on the floor, and allow your head to rest easily. You can use a small pillow for neck support if you like, but it’s not essential.

Many people choose to listen through headphones or earbuds, especially if privacy matters or you want to feel more immersed in the sound.

If you lie down, you may find yourself drifting off to sleep - and that’s perfectly harmless. You’ll wake naturally in your own time, feeling refreshed and calm. However, true hypnosis happens in that relaxed, aware state between waking and sleep, so once you’re fully asleep, your subconscious stops engaging with the suggestions.

So, if your goal is change rather than nap, stay comfortably upright - relaxed but awake. You can always save the “falling asleep” version for bedtime.

Do I need to do anything special before or after a session?

A little preparation makes a big difference. Think of it as setting the stage so your mind and body can fully relax into the experience.

Before you begin:

  • Choose a quiet space where you won’t be interrupted - no pets, phones, or ticking clocks competing for attention.

  • Dim the lighting or close the curtains. Bright or flickering light can keep your mind more alert than you want it to be.

  • Make sure the temperature feels just right - not too warm or too cool - so you’re not adjusting mid-session.

  • Visit the bathroom beforehand, so you can relax completely without distraction.

  • Avoid coffee, energy drinks, or strong tea for at least an hour before your session. They can make it harder to settle into that easy, drifting focus.

  • Wear comfortable clothing - nothing that pinches, squeezes, or needs constant adjusting.

Most importantly, set the time aside just for you. Treat the session as your private appointment with calm and clarity - because that’s exactly what it is.

Afterwards, give yourself a few moments to enjoy the calm before rushing back into daily life. A short walk, a glass of water, or even just sitting quietly for a minute helps your conscious and subconscious minds sync up, gently integrating the changes you’ve begun to make.

What if I buy a program and it’s not for me?

That’s absolutely fine - it happens!

Everyone’s different, and while most people find hypnosis genuinely helpful, no single approach works perfectly for everyone. That’s why I offer a simple, no-questions-asked 30-day refund guarantee.

If you buy a program and decide it’s not right for you, just email me with your order number within 30 days of purchase. I’ll process a full refund straight away - no forms, no awkward conversations, and no fine print.

Since I began offering my online hypnosis programs back in 2014, I’ve refunded less than 1% of all orders - not because I’m inflexible, but because most clients find exactly what they were hoping for (and often a bit more).

So you can relax, explore freely, and try any program with total peace of mind. The guarantee’s there to make sure your only risk is missing out on how good it could feel.

Why should I trust you (and your voice!) to guide me through hypnosis?

A fair question - and one I’d ask too.

I’ve spent more than a decade creating hypnosis programs that genuinely help people make lasting changes - safely, effectively, and comfortably. Every script is written, recorded, and refined by me personally, drawing on established principles, proven hypnotic methods, and years of feedback from real clients around the world.

My approach is deliberately practical and down-to-earth. No mystique, no gimmicks - just clear, focused hypnosis that helps you access the natural abilities of your own mind. I record everything in a professional vocal studio, so what you hear is calm, clear, and designed to help you relax deeply while feeling completely secure.

As for the voice - it’s one of the most personal parts of the process. You’ll hear a gentle, neutral British tone, not a performance. Most people describe it as friendly and reassuring, which is exactly how it’s meant to feel: like someone quietly guiding you, not lecturing you.

Ultimately, you don’t have to take my word for it - just listen. If it feels right, you’ll know. And from that point on, your subconscious and I can get to work together on something truly life-changing.

You can sample my style and technique with my two free Hypnosis Conditioning Recordings below.
